Bún Mì Vietnamese Grill has relocated to the Politan Row food court at Colony Square. Here’s a recap of my first visit with my husband (a.k.a. Tank) when they were located in Buckhead. The restaurant is a fast casual concept focusing on authenticity, freshness, quality and accessibility. The menu offers traditional options infused with flavors of French cuisine with attention to the modern tastes of the city’s diners.

As we approached the counter, we were accompanied by the notes and sounds of a piano. A wall mounted television was streaming The Best of Yiruma, creating a serene (almost spa-like) atmosphere which was a surprise. I guess I expected something lively but the music was nice.

After we placed our orders, we received our drinks. I tried the Orange Passionfruit Juice with Chia Seeds and he opted for Hibiscus Tea. Both were delicious!

Tank uses Chia Seeds often in water and cereal but I have yet to make a routine of including them in my diet. However, I did enjoy them in the fruit juice.

Just a few minutes after settling in at a table near the front window, our orders were delivered to our table. Tank ordered a Ga-Mi which is a Grilled Turmeric Chicken Bánh mì with truffle pate, garlic aioli pickled carrots & daikon, cucumbers and cilantro. The chicken in this sandwich was tender and flavorful and he loved the baguette.

He also ordered the Tom Roll which is an order of Grilled Garlic Herbs Shrimp Spring Rolls with vermicelli wrapped in rice paper, green leaf lettuce, cucumbers, mint and cilantro and served with house dipping sauce.

I tried the Tom-Bowl with Grilled Garlic Herb Shrimp. The ingredients in the bowl are similar to the Tom Roll except there are also pickled carrots & daikon and crispy shallots with a house sauce on the side to dress it. It was such a fresh choice and also quite filling.

Finally there was the Heo-Roll, Grilled Honey Lemongrass Pork Spring Roll. Inside a rice paper wrapper were vermicelli, green leaf lettuce, cucumbers, mint and cilantro. The vegetables used in each menu item were very similar so choosing an entree or roll seems primarily determined by the desired protein. No matter which is chosen, the end result is a meal that is fresh, flavorful, filling and fast!
