As I walked through the streets of Old San Juan, I paused to grab a bite from a couple cafes that I found online. Both @spiga_vsj and @caletacafe are perfectly intimate in size and the food was very good. Each left me wanting to stop in again the next time I visit PR.

What a special week in Puerto Rico! It was nice to be able to walk the streets of Old San Juan at a pace that allowed me to truly admire the city’s beautiful architecture along its narrow streets and alleys and on the secure side of ornate gates.

The most meaningful aspect of this trip, however, was learning about @saccpr and the impactful work they’re doing on the island. Being able to tour Hope Lodge further emphasized the support and resources they provide to cancer patients and the ongoing need for these services.

The highlight of the weekend was the @saccpr Golden Grand Gala where they celebrated 50 years of saving lives. It was a blessing to simply be in the room, to hear the stories of survivors and to bear witness to the genuine care and commitment expressed by everyone who supports this cause.

If you plan on visiting PR soon, take your time and be intentional about appreciating the beauty of the island everywhere it exists.
